...is it the the chicken kind of chix or the human kind?

I like Shredded Wheat. It's simple, tasty, toasty, boring, and free of bad stuff (sugar, salt, etc.). It also has lots of fiber and whole grains. Great with bananas and/or blueberries and your choice of milk.

But I had my time eating Frosted Flakes, Cheerios, Raisin Bran, and Rice Krispies--- before moving to the (sadly) no-longer made Product 19 and Special K.

But now, sigh, it is all about low glycemic index carbs (even though I'm not diabetic)... My appetite can be voracious after so-called "simple carbs."

I used to like Rice Krispies and Mini Wheats but I developed unpleasant digestive side effects when I ate both, so then I switched to Special K, which my digestion tolerated better. However, I never have particularly cared for milk, so I don't eat much cereal. I do eat grits and oatmeal.

Sometimes Mr YD gets Raisin Bran and I eat it when it is in the house. I used to hate it. I always liked raisins by themselves but hated stumbling over them in other foods especially oatmeal cookies.

My favorite hot cereal used to be Ralston but you can't find it anymore. I loved that stuff! When I was a kid I called it Red Oats.

I love cheese grits but consider them a side dish rather than cereal.
