Between 1977 & 2007, my bands played NYE 28.
Another 2, the band wasn't together long enough to ve gigging and/or have an NYE date booked. So, the band through a party where we played.
So, I've long been New Tear's Eved out.
But, if I was actually going to do NYE & could go anywhere because I'm guessing in would be fun it would be: Sydney, London, or Naples.

1] Never been there, would love to visit. Though which island?!

2] only once have I been in a very warm place when it was cold here in NYC.
A gifted vacation to Puerto Rico in
earlyish March about ?20+ yrs back. . It suddenly got down to close to single digits ?windchill, not sure, or straight cold up here, while it was 85° down there.

And since PR has close ties w NYC the San Juan News Channel showed a reporter in NYC in a seriously hooded coat reporting on the cold w map.

The first place to celebrate New Year's is Kiritimati Island, also known as Christmas Island, which is part of the Republic of Kiribati. Kiribati is located in the Pacific Ocean, east of the International Date Line.

Kiribati is the first to celebrate New Year's because of its location in the world's farthest forward time zone, which is 19 hours ahead of New York City. For example, when Kiritimati celebrates New Year's Day at midnight, it's still 5 AM EST in New York City.

I used to want to be on Maui for New Year's Eve until I actually spent New Year's Eve on Maui. I didn't realize that it was louder than the 4th of July. There's something to be said about being in a place that's usually too cold for outside fuckery.

It's in Boulder, Colorado.

I always wanted to go to it, alone with my wife, but never did. It's a beautiful old hotel.

It's on my bucket list I guess, although I'm not sure I'll ever actually do it.

It seems to fall through the cracks, and now America itself is cracking up. When Trump does Ukraine with Mexico, Mexico may take back what it lost in 1846.

We're doing Washington DC this year for New Years to say goodbye to the United States.
