For the first time ever in our 34 years of marriage

My husband and I are spending Christmas day with our children and no one else. No siblings, nor relatives, just us. I am so looking forward to it.

Whatever you are celebrating, or not celebrating this year, I wish you all peace and comfort.

3. Our Christmas will suck like always because we're required to spend it with my wife's MAGA family.

It's hard because my wife's mother lays a massive guilt trip on her if we try to establish any sort of boundary. They're still her parents, so she struggles. But this year for the first time ever we're not staying overnight. Baby steps, I guess.

No nearby siblings or relatives. Post-pandemic, we aren’t comfortable partying in other spaces. The spouse and I will spend the day looking at TV or listening to music.

for a quick visit to see what the great grandchildren got for Christmas.

Then they will be going to a friend's house for dinner, then we will be alone for the day. My grandson called us last night and said he got us some crabs for dinner, so that will be nice.

Merry Christmas to all, however you celebrate it.
