My husband and I are spending Christmas day with our children and no one else. No siblings, nor relatives, just us. I am so looking forward to it.
Whatever you are celebrating, or not celebrating this year, I wish you all peace and comfort.

(221 posts)It's hard because my wife's mother lays a massive guilt trip on her if we try to establish any sort of boundary. They're still her parents, so she struggles. But this year for the first time ever we're not staying overnight. Baby steps, I guess.

(913 posts)No nearby siblings or relatives. Post-pandemic, we arent comfortable partying in other spaces. The spouse and I will spend the day looking at TV or listening to music.

Then they will be going to a friend's house for dinner, then we will be alone for the day. My grandson called us last night and said he got us some crabs for dinner, so that will be nice.
Merry Christmas to all, however you celebrate it.
