Whos Bob? Bobs your Uncle means youve got it made. The mainly British saying may have stemmed from the actions of Lord Robert Cecil, 3rd Marguess of Salisbury, a late 19th Century Prime Minister famous for Nepotism involving his nephew.
Arent you glad you clicked? And is Irrelevant Arcanity Oxymoronish? And isnt it nice to step away from today on occasion?

(40,449 posts)To have outstanding and inspirational English and Debate Instructors in High School a long time ago. The English Language is beyond fascinating. Its constant sources of origination, tenses, etc. Usage. I remember my English Teacher addressing our Debate Class in an effort to make us communicate properly in a debate. Her bottom line, pretend you are debating someone who only speaks Chinese but is attempting to communicate with you. Strangely I think I knew what she was talking about. It has stuck with me for over 50 years.

Some of the pet peeve language threads here on DU are among my favorite threads. I share most of them.
