We always had wild rice at Thanksgiving, and you have to get the real kind, not the cultivated stuff. I still buy it from the White Earth Ojibwe. The wild rice grown and harvested in the old way is completely different, and tastes different - and much better - than the grocery store variety. Cultivated rice is black and shiny and takes longer to cook, and the flavor is bland. Buy the real stuff, support Native growers. https://www.americastestkitchen.com/articles/7156-how-to-tell-if-your-wild-rice-is-actually-wild

I worked for a company in area (15233). Stopped out there once for a few days. Very nice.
There was a great BnB walking distance. Owner emailed a month or so ago and said he had to close, sold the property, moved somewhere warm.
Worked East of there, too. (15501)

where is it good?

Aside from the turkey, stuffing, and cranberries, we have mashed sweet potatoes, grated red beet and ginger salad, green salad, sautéed green beans and wild mushrooms with chopped onions and garlic, roasted bell peppers (3 colors). Neighbors bring huge bowls full of dark chocolate mousse and strawberry mascarpone, and my wife usually makes an apricot-apple-nectarine crumble.

My digestive system punishes me severely for the following three days as it is. Add? Add WHAT? Bulgogi?
