1. As a retired high school librarian, this is killing me.

I only had two books challenged and my administrators supported me. If this were happening now in SW PA, where I worked, they would be ripping the books off of the shelves. What a nightmare.

3. If a literary charater has a body for anything besides walking and war

the picklefaced book banners want it hidden away, preferably turned to ashes in whatever passes for a village square these days.

They slither out from under their rocks every few years but this is the most traction I' ve ever seen them get with school boards and the like, probably because red states give them so many enablers willing to sacrifice the education of their kiddies on the altar of "I wanna keep my soft job."

Banned books were my reading list, in any case, although I learned to spot and avoid the porn (too formulaic plus pages stuck together, ew) which left me the literature.

I have to hope the kids are paying close attention, since the book banners say it's all to keep them pure. They're being supplied with a stellar reading list, in paperback if not online. I'm sure some will go for it.

Like all trumps, Gaetz, MTG, Boebert, and ole Georgie boy?
We can certainly fill multiple pages with names of Pure GQP Jebus freaks.
Many of these listed can barley read any books.
I mean we could keep kids totally out of evil schools and far from books and they may grow to be as PURE as Boebert.

6. Really deluderd parents think their teenagers don't know a thing about sex

so of course they're not going to listen to those nasty old hormones.

Yeah, they really think that. So the kids listen to other kids and 99% of what they know is wrong, and being teenagers, won't listen to anyone who tries to set them straight about it. So little Susie starts missing her period and little Bobby has to get a warehouse or mill job, fast, so he can be a daddy 10 years or so before either of them are ready.

Yeah, I grew up in the south, why do you ask?
