"Abrego Garcia was sent to an El Salvadoran prison without due process. He may be innocent, he may be guilty, but he has not received the benefit of due process under the law that he deserves. His case has received the most attention, relative to the other 237 sent away on those initial planes, because he does indeed appear to be innocent. But we must not lose sight of the fact that due process was denied to all who were transported there, no matter their degree of actual guilt...
"But the larger issue is not Abrego Garcias fate per se it is the defiance. If Trump defies the Supreme Court, where does that leave us? It means, quite simply, that Trump could sweep any of us off the street (or from our homes) under phony auspices, jet us to El Salvador, and have us lost in the bowels of CECOT forever because we are, in his view, beyond his reach.
