Our elected lawmakers in Congress must take immediate action to defend our democracy from Donald Trump and Elon Musk

We’re presently witnessing a hostile takeover of our constitutional republic.

I don’t care what the party affiliation is of the members and staff who stand up and fight back — Democratic, Republican, independent, that doesn’t matter. I just want a few good people among the 535 elected members of Congress and thousands of legislative staffers to decide our country is worth fighting for… and then lead that fight.

The constitutional crisis facing our nation demands more from us than what members of Congress and too many in the various media channels have come to view as “politics as usual.” There is nothing normal or acceptable about wannabe dictator Donald Trump’s use of megabillionaire Elon Musk to assault our constitutional republic, our governmental institutions, our federal civil servants, and our rule of law.

Here are a few requests to our elected representatives in Congress — and especially the Democratic members. You are uniquely positioned to defend our system of checks and balances with the power, privilege, and authority vested in you under the Constitution.

2. Soldiers go into battle

Risking their lives for their fellow soldiers and also because our Country has put them in harms way. They risk everything for our Country, Constitution and doing what we have been told is the right thing to do.

First Responders all across the nation risk themselves to help and support others.

People of all stripes (except MAGA and Christians Nationalist) reach out to help others just because it is the right and decent thing to do.

Our Congress won’t do anything because they might lose their seat at the table.
