This isn't hyperbole. This is Republican legislation.

On Monday, the Idaho House of Representatives asked the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, the landmark 2015 case that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. If the Supreme Court takes up the challenge and rules in favor of the Idaho House, it could mean the end of gay marriage in the United States.

It’s a move that is intended to send a message on behalf of the GOP that LGBTQ+ equality will no longer be tolerated. The Republicans want us to live in fear that they will take our rights away.

They have no intention to obey laws - or a 4 year term. they got this far after decades of GOP slow walking to find any and all voters & the right time and TV charismatic communicator puppet for power, $$$$ and to control the population. They believe they are going nowhere except to their goal for 100 yrs or more..."when threatened they fight harder..." Insane MEN, greedy and THEIR ACTIVE SEIZURE OF AMERICA NOW IN FULL SWING. The Pentagon and Justice need to pick them up NOW...forget the bought SCOTUS - let THEM fight it out ater for a change.
People we need to be in our family&friends small groups, community groups and civil protests at state capitols, etc, and before we all see if he has enough power over policing.

I wish media would stop saying the people knew everything about him/his behavior, etc. and voted him in...1) President Felon has lied everyday, about everything for decades, esp. in the political sphere. - the hurt, lost, angry, poor just follow his bs - they feel some sort of supported self power connected to him. trump and sooo many others on media shows the last 4 days or so have been saying they just don't "understand where the lawyers are...." Well, repeatedly over my 17 yrs on FB, and the 20+ before that, I have reported this issue clearly. Since TV Evangelist shows early on tripled and they (at least 3 of them) built Law Institutions to educate attorneys in federalism views. so it is no wonder where they are. Maybe tell the story/truth - help educate the young who have no experience in boomer history. just FYI -----------------

Entering nonviolently (no matter the cost) into the UNKNOWN is where ALL things are possible. To enter into the Good Fight we have to walk with our innate, built-in and growing Moral Compass. We have to grab the courage to speak through truth and love, having faith in each other, and in grace.
It matters not what color, culture, size or gender. It is not important if we are loners, or Sagittarius in the zodiac, or of Protestant persuasion, or Catholic, or a mysterious child of the Universe. What does matter is that in every good fight we are led by truth and love for justice, for human progress everywhere, and for peace. Court justices, lawyers, doctors, nurses, and workers in every field and sector need to do the unusual in this precedent moment of opportunity.

America, we must KNOW it is safe to trust each other in this moment, and ALIGN ourselves into a focused action to fight the current attack on our country. And though we need to continue to write our representatives and elected leaders, every digital ping and petition they see only as blips: they can filter to read a few, all, or none. They now prefer to ignore us entirely. But what they can't ignore is our collective power together, staring them down and rejecting their elitism. We must plug up their plans and get in their way - be in the streets, taking up space at places that by law BELONG TO THE PEOPLE, like government capitols, representative offices, etc.

Find the courage, elders, to call a family meeting, a circle of friends, or a group in your community and read over these simple rules of engagement - and try them. 2. I read the article. The Idaho House of Representatives can "ask" whatever they want.

Courts, especially the Supreme Court, don’t respond to “asks.” There must be a case, that works its way from the district court, to the appellate court. Then, the Supreme Court would have to grant cert in order to hear the case.

I don’t doubt that this Court would like to overturn Obergefell, but it isn’t going to happen because a political body asks them to.

3. Funny they talk about (the GOP) civil rights mostly, the taking away of rights and ignoring set law, but then they're

pretty well aligned w/ the GOP on other things such as most of law in country, that is, if someone is speeding 100mph, they get a ticket, we all agree w/ that. That is, civil law most of us agree on.

That's the only thing repubs can really get us on, the civil rights of others besides themselves, that is, there are no other Americans other than the GOPhers. There are 60% of us at least against them.

But I saw the subject line and thought, "What, they're aiming at straight marriage?"

There's a hierarchy in tradition/precedence here:

1. straight marriage, with miscegenation
2. straight marriage, miscegenation banned
3. gay marriage
4. trans-sex/gender marriage (terminology might offend, see next line first)
5. trans-species marriage

When I was born, only (1) was okay.
When I graduated high school, (2) was completely okay.
Obama ran against (3), but the courts--dare we call them an oligarchy?--said they were okay.
So when I started teaching HS, (3) was okay.
Dunno if (4) is distinguished in laws/statutes/etc. relating to marriage. Honestly, don't much care.
(5) has yet to be an issue, but I'm only 64 and my parents/aunts/uncles lived into their 80s (before dying of cancer, dementia, or sudden-onset lead poisoning).]
