Trump unveils 'plan' to end Russia's war on Ukraine--and it's dumb as hell

Donald Trump on Wednesday teased that his plan to end Russia's brutal war against Ukraine is to put tariffs on Russian goods and put sanctions on the country, the latter of which the United States is already doing.

"If we don’t make a 'deal,' and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social, following a lie-filled screed about the "Russia Hoax" and his great relationship with brutal Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

"Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with!” he added. “We can do it the easy way, or the hard way - and the easy way is always better. It’s time to ‘MAKE A DEAL.’ NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!"

Tariffing his way to peace is not likely to work. That's because Russia and the United States are barely trading at all right now because of the war.

1. Trump claimed countless times during his campaign,

that he'd end the war in Ukraine immediately, basically promising.
Today speaking at the WEF in Davos, he was asked if he thought it would be over next year. His reply was
"Ask Putin".
These are the kinds of things the media need to focus on. The sooner the moderates who voted for him get buyer's remorse, the better.

9. It's an old failed plan.

First seen with respect to the conflict in Ukraine in 2015 when sanctions and other financial things would "guarantee" that sooner rather than later--but not immediately--Crimea would be returned to Ukraine. May even take a decade!

This was barking insane at the time and yet a lot of people believed it. And we've seen how that paragon of planning virtue worked out.

And what is so frustrating about it is that stupid people can't remember this is all he was last time, words without action, and assertions that the way he perceives things in his mind are facts, when they're just part of his imagination.
