Under the Trumpf Junta, How Soon Before America Joins the List of Pariah States?

After Trumpf’s stunning 2024 electoral win, Russian despot Vladimir Putin gleefully declared that the “New World Order” is dead. According to former National Security Advisor John Bolton, Trumpf mulls about withdrawing the US from NATO. Under Project 2025, America’s Richard III will attempt to deport massive numbers of vulnerable migrants while further eroding the country’s social safety nets and civil liberties. The maps below from worlddata.info represent current and former Pariah and Rogue states:

“Pariah states are those states that are considered outcasts because of their government. Anyone who does not abide by international rules or refuses to cooperate with the international community in wide areas must expect sanctions. Many of the former and current pariah states owe their classification to their autocratic rule, under which their own people suffer.

“The term ‘rogue state’ goes back to the US government under George W. Bush, which used it to describe aggressive states that threaten either the USA itself or its allies. Although the term was new, the concept of the exclusion of dangerous nations was introduced in 1994. The first countries to be considered ‘Rogue States’ were North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, and Libya.”

Happy New Year, BBbats. If Dems win the House in 2026, we may stay off the list, but your estimate is fine. C0RI0LANUS Wednesday #2

Don't know who writes world.info, but that's a subjective list, though it does show why the USA won't join it muriel_volestrangler Yesterday #4

Maybe sooner!
We will lose our traditional trusted allies.
NATO members will shun the USA.
When no one has our back where we gonna go.
Putin ? Orban? Musk?
And just wait until they kick our military installations out of their nations.
Trump's already pissing off Canada & Mexico. I already hear MAGAt's cheering that.
"Payback's A Bitch" sayeth the old sage.

The American people and our national security establishment will not be in a good place soon.

It has Germany as a former "pariah state" - well, OK, if you go back to 1945. But then you'd have to ask why Japan and other countries aren't listed too.

But note that China, despite its persecution of Uyghurs, removal of free speech in Hong Kong, belligerence in the South China Sea and so on, is not on the list. This is because its economy is too big for people to start calling it a "pariah". And the same goes, but more so, for the USA.

I was curious to this website as well, so I checked their IP location before posting.

Worlddata.info registered their domain in the US and their average monthly traffic is 308.6K, so they are not overtaking wikipedia or britannica.com any time soon. As I have an ad-blocker on my PC, I do not see any advertisements or pop-ups to offer me any more clues about their audience.

Your point is spot on about China and the USA being excluded from the pariah list because their economies are too large, no matter how brutal life is in Xinjiang, Tibet, or Hong Kong, as well as places like Ferguson, MO in the US.

"White privilege" also extends to "hegemonic privilege."

The US had apartheid until the 1960s, but who led a BDS movement against America?

Too bad most US leadership, not all, fails to see America's historic hypocrisies.

One who did see the hypocrisies was our late, great Jimmy Carter, a visionary who believed in peace, compassion, and justice.
