US says Trump 'interested' in asking Arab countries to pay for war on Iran

Source: Aljazeera

The White House has suggested that US President Donald Trump will ask Arab countries to cover the cost of the United States’ war against Iran, estimated to be in the tens of billions of dollars.

Trump’s spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, was asked on Monday whether Arab states should pay for the war, as when US allies helped fund Washington’s intervention during the Gulf War in 1990.

“I think it’s something the president would be quite interested in calling them to do,” Leavitt told reporters.

“I won’t get ahead of him on that, but certainly it’s an idea that I know that he has, and something that I think you’ll hear more from him on.”

1. A reasonable request considering the fact that their influence helped persuade Trump to commit the folly of al-out

Israel had nothing to do with it?

I hope they tell Trump to go fuck himself. Let Israel and the U.S. pay for it.

11. No, it's not all the Arabs fault. No one suggested that. I am pointing out that some Arab countries actively encouraged

Trump to attack Iran. that's all. Is that too complicated to understand?

12. As a rule, I don't "understand" things that are not true.

If I did, I would be MAGA.

The truth here is not complex, by any means, so even someone like me can "understand" it. But it is not as you claim so you might want to re-calibrate.

Everything I have read indicates that Gulf nations did not want Trump to attack Iran because it would have "catastrophic" consequences for their economies and regional stability. Further, it would leave them sitting ducks, which as it turned out was also true.

The fact that the U.S. did not bother to give them any advance notice to protect themselves does not sit well with them. There will be consequences for that too.

But now they are in the position of "in for a penny, in for a pound". They now have to protect themselves from a vengeful Iran. Their self-interest dictates urging the U.S. to finish the job.

But that is a far cry from your claim that they "actively encouraged Trump to attack Iran. Only those seeking a whitewashing of Israel's culpability in this mess and pointing it in a different direction would want to make such a claim that flies in the face of reality. Not saying that is you, but it's important to set the record straight, no? Truth and facts and all that.

till we have Trump and the MAGAverse gone and behind us before we start labeling a notion like that "a reasonable request"?

The fat-ass deserves all the blame until he's unalived. After that we can split hairs to penalize the other players.

Apparently they never heard about the Fat Donnie campaign website that made the donor think it was a one time contribution,
but kept automatically deducting money monthly.

9. So, let's get this straight: you bombed our neighbor and then they started bombing us...

...but you want US to pay for your bombing of them?

How about YOU pay US for the damage they did to us as a result of YOUR bombing?

So many things would be different if there had been any attempt at building a coalition before letting the bombs fly....

Now we have to live with the consequences of our actions--regardless of who we voted for.

13. Just what did their 1 Billion dollars for the Gaza "Peace Plan" get them?

Not even a SEAT at the table planning Iran's destruction, er PEACE. Instead, they were ignored and left to fend for themselves as sitting ducks while the US and Israel focused only on protecting themselves.

Let's see if the US-boot-licking despots and monarchs have any backbone at all, or what their populations will have to say in the matter.
