Roberts on personal attacks against judges: 'It's got to stop'

Chief Justice John Roberts on Tuesday pushed back on personal attacks against judges, calling it dangerous and a problem. Judges around the country work very hard to get it right, and if they dont, their opinions are subject to criticism, Roberts said while responding to a question about handling criticism during an event at Rice Universitys Baker Institute for Public Policy. But personally directed hostility is dangerous, and its got to stop, he added.
U.S. District Judge Lee Rosenthal did not reference President Trump in her question, and his name never came up in the hourlong conversation. The chief justices answer, though, comes after the president over the weekend levied one of his most searing denouncements of the Supreme Court yet.
Railing against the justices 6-3 decision that invalidated his sweeping tariffs, Trump wrote on Truth Social that the court has become little more than a weaponized and unjust Political Organization. In a post on Truth Social, the president described Roberts and the other justices who ruled against him as inept and embarrassing.
Trump has also long assailed lower judges whove ruled against him, most recently targeting U.S. District Judge James Boasberg for blocking the Justice Departments subpoenas in its investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

Roberts is very much guilty of aiding and abetting tsf and whatever negative consequences he now faces because of his misplaced loyalty are his own fault. No sympathy from me.

roberts gave trump the wink-wink, the go-ahead, the invincibility shield which managed to send that crazy /demented / piece of shit on the ride of his life, down from that golden shower trump tower moutaintop in his mind, & crashing into all of america and the rest of the world.
but now "it's got to stop?" HAHAHA!
roberts is probably just terrified that one of trump's magat base will be coming for him one of these days/nights like they've done for others.

(509 posts)by the implication. Properly stated, Roberts brought this on himself knowing full well that he, like every other stoneless and gutless Republican he was kneeling at the feet of a wannabe King. History will not treat him kindly either. He needs to go to every judge in the country and personally apologize. And if he's really sorry he'll correct Scalito, the drunken rapist, and the viciously self hating Black man. He will receive partial forgiveness.
