Tulsi Gabbard, the embattled director of national intelligence, has shuttered the task force she created to pursue Donald Trump’s political vendettas.

Gabbard, 44, confirmed to Reuters on Tuesday that she has wound down the Director’s Initiatives Group, a task force she launched under the banner of depoliticizing intelligence agencies.

The group, which issued reports attacking the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the Biden administration’s handling of domestic terrorism, had been accused of serving as a vehicle for Trump’s political retribution campaign.

News of the DIG’s scrapping comes as Gabbard faces intense scrutiny over her handling of a whistleblower complaint and her seizure of voting machine data in pursuit of Trump’s 2020 election conspiracy theories.

6. They never really got around to ruling on the whole "immunity" thing in full.

The case went into pause when it got too close to the election and that halted any further discussion beyond the SCOTUS allowing "immunity" BUT remanding back to the lower court to determine what were "official acts" vs "unofficial acts" for the applicability of it.

With respect to suing the government - in general, the government has to "give permission" to do that. It may require Congress to pass some laws for it to happen.

I don't recall seeing officials' ages routinely mentioned after their names (unless it's part of the point of the article (e.g., re- alleged senility or youthful inexperience). Am I missing something?

Daily Beast has been making an explicit point of doing that because the rest of the M$M continually did that during the Biden administration in order to engage in what amounted to some ridiculous age discrimination - most overtly, with respect to Biden.

So that is their little "dig".
