Gardener seen being hit by immigration agents in June video is released from detention
Source: NBC News
The immigrant father of three U.S. Marines was released from federal custody Tuesday, three weeks after being violently detained by immigration agents while working his landscape job in Santa Ana, California, last month.
Narciso Barranco was released on $3,000 bond from Adelanto Detention Center. Authorities had accused Barranco of assaulting a federal agent with a weed whacker, but he and his family denied the claim, saying he was trying to protect himself from pepper spray.
"When he heard that, he was shocked," Alejandro Barranco said. "He never intended to hit anyone. He never intended to hurt anyone."
Barranco was charged only with being in the country illegally, not for the alleged assault of an agent, his son said.

This peaceful, hard working father of 3 Marines, who has been in the US for 30 years, without any criminal record, got mauled and pepper sprayed by ICE while cutting grass at an IHOP. Then, ICE tried to smear him, claiming he attacked them, something the video did not show. I'm glad he is free. Hope he gets the relief he requests at his August hearing. He is finally getting due process, but only because his arrest caught the attention of the country.

(498 posts)There was another incident (among many) of a petite Latina woman (she looked no more than 120lb), who was violently taken by ICE while walking to work in LA. Same thing they accused her of assault. Anyone would realize how absurd the claim was.
Whats worse is shes an AMERICAN CITIZEN! The poor woman was interviewed and was so shaken up. This is state sanctioned kidnapping. This is basically what the cartels and gangs do in Latin America and in
countries the state department would warn about.

(498 posts)Im not sure how accurate the ICEblock apps sightings are, but I see at least seven reports in the last two days, within 5 square miles of where I live.

(1,077 posts)Given that these guys will beat and arrest you just for taking video of their evil deeds, I told myself I shouldn't get the ICEblock app because I'd probably end up in trouble, possibly arrested. I mean, I'm a US citizen as are both my parents, but it would be risky for me to have it on my phone, such that I knew of these actions happening near my house (which they very well could be for all I know).
As you know Trump is basically at war with our state.
Im a US citizen too, but I figured its smart to keep an eye on their activity (and Ive been carrying a passport card around) since Homan said physical appearance is grounds for detention, and that means brown people like me are basically targets regardless of status.
