China's Maglev Prototype Reaches 650 km/h as Dedicated Network Construction Underway

Source: Ground News

China successfully demonstrated a 1.1-ton Maglev train reaching 404 mph in under 7 seconds, with technology capable of 620 mph speeds. The system, tested at Donghu Laboratory, achieves 4-millimeter precision at extreme velocities.
What It Means: This reproducible technology will transform intercity travel in China, with plans to connect major cities like Beijing and Shanghai in just 90 minutes. Construction of the high-speed track will be completed by year-end.

Compare China's move into the future with how the "Bullet Train" was resisted and disparaged here in California.

Someday, China will have trains that never stop, while we'll be chugging around in coal-powered buggies.

Look at that stack!

Dedicated lines could reduce cargo trucks and operate cheaper.
We can't even get LA to SF.

Maybe out of context but this comes to mind " it's the jump that's gonna kill you" Butch and Sundance discussing the fear of drowning while contemplating jumping into a river from a high cliff.

...and ain't nobody gonna take my land!!

If they do buy it from you and build something phenomenal, some Cro-Magnon will plant explosives somewhere on the route and proclaim that "God didn't intend us to travel 600mph! We should be getting around on donkeys!!"

It says so right there in the "good book."
