Federal judge makes your Social Security data harder for DOGE to access -- for now

Source: Marketwatch

The Department of Government Efficiency will be allowed only limited access to Social Security data after a federal court handed a ruling that will block the agency from tapping beneficiaries’ personal identifiable information at will.

A federal judge temporarily halted DOGE from accessing Social Security data late Thursday night with a preliminary injunction in a lawsuit brought forth by labor groups. The plaintiffs argue DOGE is violating privacy laws and that their access to the agency’s data is a major security risk.

U.S. District Judge Ellen Hollander, who had previously issued a temporary restraining order against DOGE and requested it delete any information it had already obtained, questioned what DOGE needed with all of that data and if it could be anonymized. “What is it we’re doing that needs all of that information?” she reportedly said.

Justice Department attorney Bradley Humphreys told the court it’s possible to anonymize the information “but it is extremely burdensome.”

With the injunction, DOGE will be allowed access if the information is unidentifiable and after staff have the proper training and background checks.

By russian agents I mean, of course trump, musk, and the stupid doge boys.

Software agents can be installed at the level of root-kits. Totally invisible to almost all virus detectors. Also not affected by a restoration of the system via a normal backup.

Hardware agents can be simple replacements of USB cables (keyboard, mouse, monitor) with a new cable that has the software embedded in the cable/interface itself. Undetectable.

I think … not that much makes me feel any better, but that may have succeeded in making me feel worse
