KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine and the U.S. have reached an agreement on a framework for a broad economic deal that would include access to Ukraine’s rare earth minerals, three senior Ukrainian officials said Tuesday.

The officials, who were familiar with the matter, spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly. One of them said that Kyiv hopes that signing the agreement will ensure the continued flow of U.S. military support that Ukraine urgently needs.

There was no immediate response to a request for comment from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The agreement could be signed as early as Friday and plans are being drawn up for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to travel to Washington to meet Trump, according to one of the Ukrainian officials.

19. I have had the honor

of sitting and talking at great length with Jimmy Carter. He is an incredible human being. So full of kindness and warmth and the continued devotion to try and make things better for the U.S. People. He didn't just talk he listened, and always asked: "what do you think I can be doing better?"...... My wife has worked side by side with him during construction of a Habitat Home. She too feels he is the real McCoy. He worked all day alongside her, where as Clinton and a "famous actor" showed up for photo ops and then left.

He always restored my faith in humanity temporarily at least, until I had to step back into the real world.........

And he had an exceptional Naval career, but he was never a nuclear sub commander. He served on diesel subs and started nuclear power school (a six month course of study that leads to operator training) in March, 1953. In July 1953, his father passed away and he resigned his commission to run the family peanut farm.
