Democrats outline playbook to target House Republicans on Medicaid, budget and DOGE

Source: ABC News

Democrats plan to target House Republicans in vulnerable districts by highlighting potential cuts to Medicaid and other federal spending in the budget blueprint GOP lawmakers hope to vote on this week, according to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee memo first obtained by ABC News.

The memo titled “Medicaid Cuts Prove Politically Perilous for House Republicans” outlines a plan to paint GOP members in swing districts as voting for a “budget blueprint that would inflict massive pain upon American families.”

The budget blueprint sets a goal of at least $2 trillion dollars in cuts to mandatory federal spending, which includes funding for entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Medicaid, the health care program for low-income Americans and those with disabilities, is expected to face the brunt of the cuts. Some GOP members have discussed including new work requirements for the program and limiting how much the federal government pays each state.

right now, not in some hypothetical future. Trump supporters din't all have the same reasons for voting for Trump, and many of them didn't believe Trump would do what Democrats did he'd do, or that it would have a direct impact on their real lives because they get their information from the right wing media. If their Medicaid payments, stop, they will sit up and notice.

But this does just smell like typical general election kind of work. So if that was the case and it was only that it would be pretty disappointing that they’re not looking at a long-term game. You know what they need to do in five years and 15 years and 20 years to kinda reverse the course.

Im sure here in a few months we can show furtherance of cutting aid to poor people ( healthcare, food assistance etc) to fuel the tax cuts for wealthy companies and billionaires.

Im guessing the stimulus checks is geared toward giving a quick reward with the cut to make uneducated poor people feel good gor a minute
