Authorities are investigating a possible military connection between the New Orleans car-ramming suspect and the person who died after a Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside Las Vegas Trump International Hotel on New Years Day, two law enforcement sources familiar with the cases told NBC News.
The potential link was just one thread being pulled by officials Thursday, who were also searching a site in Texas a day after a man drove a pick-up truck flying an ISIS flag into New Orleans busy Bourbon Street in the early hours of New Years Day, killing 15 people and injuring at least 30 others.
The FBI is investigating it as a terrorist act. Authorities are still looking into people of interest, New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told NBC News TODAY show Thursday.
Hours after the New Orleans attack, the Las Vegas explosion triggered heightened security around Trump towers in New York and Chicago. Tesla CEO Elon Musk is a top adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, who is set to take office later this month.President Joe Biden said Wednesday that law enforcement and the intelligence community were investigating whether theres any possible connection between the incidents.

(3,523 posts). . . were rented from the same company. That is not true. The vehicles were rented through a website which proffers listings of vehicles available to rent from a plethora of owners. The individual who owned the F-150 which was used in the New Orleans attack has gone on the record stating that he is mortified that it was his truck which the attacker used to cause the horrendous loss of life and human injury.

(347 posts).. that his cybertruck blew up cause of terris stuff, and not a defective battery pack?
While this article is from NBC, it is exactly the kind of lying, unfounded, unsourced bulls**t that the media will excrete to help Trump

(347 posts)other news media are now reporting the truck was full of fireworks... Were they military fireworks?

(18,811 posts)There have been some that caught fire, but an EV is no more likely to catch fire than an ICE vehicle.

I saw it reported that the Mumpswagon driver was seen trying to get out of the vehicle, but was unable to because of the electrically operated latches.

(47,315 posts)there was a talking head on NBC News saying how neither of these guys would have been caught with traditional profiling of how people think terrorists would look like. Neither have connections to foreign countries or foreign groups or anything obvious like that. Both are all American.
These types of attacks are way harder to stop than 9/11 type attacks now.

Oh, look! There's Grammy's urn in the background of "Tammy Does Topeka"!

(47,315 posts)Apparently the New Orleans fellow burned down the AirBNB home he rented, maybe to get rid of evidence.
There are a lot of things wrong with people.
