Hawley asks panel to call Mayorkas and Wray to testify after New Orleans attack

Source: The Hill

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) is asking the Senate Homeland Security Committee to call on Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI director Christopher Wray to testify after the New Orleans attack.

Hawley sent a letter to incoming chairman of the committee Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), emphasizing Biden administration officials “cannot shirk public accountability” as President Biden’s term ends.

“When the 119th Congress convenes next week, and you assume leadership of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, I urge you to immediately call Mayorkas and Wray to publicly testify prior to their departure from office,” Hawley said.

Hawley wants a “full account of this attack” and any failures by their departments highlighted.

for the next (at least) 2 years due to what is going on right now.

This will be the perfect foil for them to distract and cover up whatever goes on during the next administration, which will most likely be horrific.

and their compliant media will dutifully report on the "plausibility" of what will be concocted, manipulated, and outright illegal actions.

I.e., instead of calling out the illegalities, they will preface them with the idiotic and inane but popular media missive - "Well it's complicated."

This is pure politics. Both departments will be investigating this, but how can they tell Hawley what they don't yet know?

the emerging narrative is that the nola terrorist and the trump hotel bomber served in the same military unit, making it somewhat likely that them and other conspirators were radicalized serving in the US military.
