(8,868 posts)and they're more than happy to shred the Constitution, sacrifice the lives of our sons and daughters, kill protestors, kidnap/beat/deport American citizens, starve families, deny healthcare, rip the safety net out from the most vulnerable, pander to a sadistic hate-fueled psychopath, and swim in Trump's fetid sewer of corruption, deviancy, greed, and bribery to hold on that power....

(334 posts)He wants to rule by decree (whim) and thinks his EO's are law. Mob boss mentality. It's why his underlings have many different acting assignments.
Sean Duffy was head of NASA for 6 months!
Marco Rubio is Secretary of State, head of USAID, and National Archivist, must be why he can't be a lead negotiator overseas as the SoS would usually be. Gotta send a couple of real estate developers, and at least one whose a family member.

(14,492 posts)The moment he rode down that escalator and they havent let go.
Not during his first wreck of an administration, and not after - when past Presidents are supposed to go home and STFU. They still kept acting like his personal press agents
running with every word out of his foul mouth.
They bear a lot of blame for twisting the, already cemented, sword in the stone that is American politics.
Who will pull the sword from the stone? And put it where it belongs?

(18,325 posts)Because they are owned by the billionaires and they control the narrative. Joe Biden is a current case in point.
The billionaires who owned the media made President Biden to always look disoriented, confused 24/7 they chose this narrative for Americans to believe and to influence the Nov election to tilt to the republicans.
Apparently it worked so well they drove Biden to reconsider his reelection bid. And some of that came from within his own party. Very unfortunate series of events.
And fast forward to today, the current president is showing all kinds of a demented mind and NO ONE in the billionaire owned media dares to provide the exact same narrative they used on Joe. Jake Tapper is an excellent case in point. He loves him some demented trump, I can already envision his next presidential book on trump.
I wonder how many billionaire media moguls are in the Epstein files?

The problem in the new media is management, now owners.
The multi-billionaires, in general, own relatively tiny percentages of outstanding shares.
In fact, the parent companies of NBC, ABC, & CNN have more shares held in middle class 401k accounts than any 2, 3, or 5 billionaires combined.
The management is dominated by people who don't want to rock the boat to protect their inflated compensation and the RW noise machine is louder than the noise from us on the other side.
The noise represents a lower % of people, but those who scream the most get their way when management is always playing defense.
The notorious billionaires don't own enough of the media to have said influence.
Cowardice of upper management is independent of ideology.

(76,798 posts)Management didn't have the spine to say no.
The dad & son still only own around 6%, but cowardly management kowtowed and made a bad business decision.
Even with a bad minority owner, courageous management could have said no.

(88 posts)Of both houses finally stand up to this. Why havent they stood up, pointed their finger across the isle and screamed to their counterparts exactly whats being said on this thread. Why havent they walked out of the Capitol, - held an emergency press conference and announced to the world that we are in deep doo-doo. Are they worried that they might get in trouble, - after the repugs attacked the Capitol trying to overthrow the Government? Instead of sitting in their hands and whining about it, - maybe they should do something!

(11,744 posts)the US media is owned by rightwing corporations and billionaires, mostly tRump supporters or those who want something, like a merger, and value that more than the truth.
That's the side they're on, and it's just their policy.

(62,289 posts)posting lots of AI-generated cartoons as replies, to me and others - do you think those cartoons should be exempt from any response other than recs?
The image generator you're using makes a lot of mistakes, even mangling text at times. I realize correcting mistakes with an image generator can be frustrating, because it'll often screw up another part of the image while trying to correct the part the user wants to fix, so people can end up generating dozens or even hundreds of images - each one wasteful of electricity and water - to try to get an AI image right.
But if you're serious about cartooning, fixing the AI errors should matter. Though honestly I don't know of any market buying AI cartoons.
If you don't care about the errors, that's your choice. But if you think no one here should have a right to comment on errors in your AI-generated cartoons posted as replies, you should post that warning.
Goonch
(5,118 posts)You were correct about the reflection error but not the coke. Your point was taken. Constructive non-abusive criticism is appreciated. You've made your position crystal clear and I've avoided posting on threads you've generated out of respect. On rare occasions such as this one I failed to notice your "byline" and have apologized.

(62,289 posts)ideas, but I'd rather see you do even a rough sketch of cartoon art by yourself than use an AI image generator because then maybe someday you could sell your cartoons, and it's always nice to get paid for your creativity.
I don't care whether you post in threads I start. But if you post something AI-generated with errors or likely errors, I may point that out - especially if it's text with incorrect information or what is likely incorrect information, and it isn't clearly identified as AI-generated so other people will know you're quoting AI that might be hallucinating. As when that AI you're fond of gave you a completely hallucinated ending for a real story. I'd hoped your being given that hallucination would have made you less trusting of AI.

Especially after Easter Sunday's bat-shit crazy "open the f-ing strait" post.
Where are the Dems on this? Speak up! Even if you feel you can't push this forward because the Republicans must initiate 25th Amendment proceedings.
As for the Congress in general: If not now, when?
