..
I've been following this since last night.. It sounds like it was the Firetruck's fault for not "stopping"?

(5,777 posts)Should he have double checked visually? Why didn't he react quicker when the ATC said stop?

(55,426 posts)that is in use and that it is possible the firetruck did not hear the repeated calls to stop. It had something to do with how the tower communicates with other systems in use. This was discussed on Canadian news, the CBC News Network, this morning. This is from an article on the CBC site:
"We seem to have three people that needed to know what's going on, or actually four different entities, and we don't hear any co-ordination among them," Mary Schiavo, the former U.S. Department of Transportation inspector general, told CBC News Network Monday morning."
"There are three people communicating but not with each other."

(318,781 posts)I'm Sorry about the Canadian Pilots.
We are all shocked and saddened by this tragic accident. Our Canadian TSB will be working with the NTSB to figure out what happened and what is needed to be done so this doesn't happen again and I do have trust they will do that.

(318,781 posts)and I hope they get to the bottom of this, Truthfully.
It does seem like it wasn't just the Firemen's fault ... it started with the ATC not being aware that Air Canada was coming in for a Landing?

(5,777 posts)It seems he was managing too much at once. Less than a minute later - he told the firetruck to cross that same runway.
