Anyone watching this press conference about the crash at LaGuardia?

Sean Duffy brought up that he has asked Congress for money to upgrade the technology. So inappropriate! I was aghast. He qualified it by saying, it wasn't what caused the crash...but. For what reason did he think that needed to be woven into all the thoughts about the two lives lost and the story of the tragedy?

He was asked a question about Air Traffic Controller staffing. He explained that they have many currently in training at the ATC academy. He explained it takes time to get people certified. GEE! Maybe you shouldn't have fired Air Traffic Controllers last year! Thanks DOGE!

Duffy mentioned that he is offering bonuses to ATC's of retirement age to not retire. Gee - maybe you shouldn't have fired all those ATC's last year.

You can give Sean Duffy as many titles as you want - he will never demonstrate leadership qualities.

age for ATC....you can't just skirt around that.

Knew something like this could happen. Was very scared when I flew out of the U.S.....not sure when, or IF I will ever return.

Every year a considerable number of ATC controllers request, and receive, waivers to continue working.

Facts matter.

FAA did not fire controllers last year for Doge. They just are always short, because they can’t hire and train enough to fully staffed, evrr we n without the GOP harming things.

Everything I had heard was that there was a mandatory retirement age. Had not heard there were waivers. Thanks for the additional knowledge.

Still being ATC is incredibly stressful. If rather there were no waivers. The damage done by raygun us still with us!

were standing with him. He couldn't wait to say that they had all come together in spite of their differences for this tragedy, but then he made them stand there as cover for his ridiculous, dishonest remarks. I know the tragedy just happened and people died, but it still bothered me.

Fly the terror skies of America without adequate ATC personnel? No way! I bit my lip a couple times this year already and after seeing news of near misses that shouldn't have happened if we had a working full manned ATC system, I'm very hesitant to fly again.

It gives me chills to think of the gamble people take with their lives with DOGE's scaled back roll-the-dice system.
