General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsNot ONE reporter has the guts to ask the following to an elected Republican:
"Senator or Congressman/women:
When have you ever voted against Trump in either of his terms?
Why has the Republican Party ceeded all it's power to Donald Trump?
Name ONE THING you have done to improve the lives of average people in your district.
What the Republican plan to bring down high prices?
The corporate media SUCKS!!!

(14,436 posts)GOP Congresscritters:
How can you, in good conscience, continue to support this maniac? How can you allow this, obviously mentally disturbed individual to remain in office?
Why is there no call for resignation or removal?
By the way... all of these questions could be posed to the MSM
Asking for a friend.

(4,037 posts)Forget those questions about Trump. Instead, can you wrap your head around the future for your children, your grandchildren? Can you think ahead just a little for the life YOU and your friends are making for them? All the children and grandchildren, etc. are innocent VICTIMS in this morass of your making and I guess you don't give a damn?? Well, that tells us what type of human you are......no one worth having as a father, husband, friend, son, daughter, etc. How on earth do you sleep at night knowing your lack of action or attention is causing a future not worth living.....a future full of pain and discordance. Dare I say, MIISERY? Please make yourself have a little (or a lot) of cognitive thinking about what Trump is doing to this country......maybe your eyes will open just a bit!!!

(2,226 posts)The ENTIRE Republican Party, and the Republican Owned/Operated main stream media could care less what anyone asks them.....they are on a roll, and taking glee in rolling over anyone and everyone in the lower 99%......

(3,453 posts)The media will gain their nerve back when a Democrat returns to the WH. Theyll harass every Dem to perpetuate the narrative that our party is in disarray.

(4,996 posts)The Republicans' own drama is the news. Otherwise, the media has to create the drama.

(4,161 posts)... editors were every bit as amoral as they are now. The standard was, "If it bleeds, it leads". And "creating the drama" often took very dark turns.
William Randolph Hearst was a glaring an obscene example of a ruthless, sociopathic newspaper mogul. Now we have the likes of Jeff "Bozo" Bezos, who has the moral compass of a rabid hyena.
I use that phrase a lot these days, I know, but it describes these greedy monsters perfectly. I long for the day when I can retire it, but I hold little hope that I'll live that long, even though I'm in pretty good shape for someone who'll turn 80 next year.

(41,465 posts)... they can't afford to lose access to Chump, and that's exactly what would happen if they squeaked a tiny word against him. They're scared shitless that they'll be banned from the White House, or the Pentagon press room. That's why they never challenge him.
GiqueCee
(4,161 posts)... in the dark age of Trumpism. I wonder how hard it would be to make it impossible for him or anyone that follows after him to ban reporters from the People's House, the Pentagon, or any government agency, save those areas where some degree of secrecy is necessary.

(48 posts)Why are we waiting for transparency and obedience from the administration...for the Epstein Files.
When will charges be filed against those obstructing the release of ALL of the files?
Does the GOP think this is the way the Pres should "take care" to enforce the constitution?

(1,820 posts)The Corporate Media wants access.
They know one "wrong" question and their people won't be allowed in the same room with Trump.

(2,656 posts)I can't even stand to see him on the TV; I can't imagine how horrid it would be to be in close proximity.
I shudder to think. That's the stuff nightmares are made of. That they actually want that, well, better them than me.
If they're so worried about keeping their jobs and access, they should DO their jobs, which is reporting, not merely taking dictation.

(23,761 posts)I don't know who's in or out, but The Guardian, ProPublica, BBC, NPR/PBS, MSNOW are doing some excellent reporting.
And all the fantastic bloggers - some of whom used to work in the government or for the current M$M.

(23,761 posts)I think the atmosphere in the room would change dramatically. I can see trump and his spokes-thing turning around and running out of the room. That would be a fun scene as the cameras keep rolling....

(38,648 posts)But this MFer Admin has learned a thing or 2 and so has MFer.
The MFer Admin and Repuke Congress is stacked top to bottom with seasoned, practiced, conscience-free liars. They THINK in lies.
The WH press gaggle is now saturated with RW Media and "Influencers" who will short-circuit follow-ups.
Worst comes to worst, MFer just insults the reporter (you're a horrible person, you're fake news) or moves on to a question he likes.
So sure, we all wish there was some way to get these fuckers to be honest about facts or intentions, but THEY WILL NOT.
We live in hell.

(65 posts)I assume you have studied the business model of xyz data center and you know both their revenue centers and parts of their organizations that will voraciously consume community resources... with this in mind, do you see your role as one that aggressively seeks tax loopholes for xyz Corp or are you also looking to change the tax code to capitalize on their accumulation of wealth?
