Feb 17 (Reuters) -
Millions of files related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein suggest the existence of a "global criminal enterprise" that carried out acts meeting the legal threshold of crimes against humanity, according to a panel of independent experts appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council.

The experts said crimes outlined in documents released by the U.S. Justice Department were committed against a backdrop of supremacist beliefs, racism, corruption and extreme misogyny.

"So grave is the scale, nature, systematic character, and transnational reach of these atrocities against women and girls, that a number of them may reasonably meet the legal threshold of crimes against humanity," the experts said in a statement.

The experts said the allegations contained in the files require an independent, thorough and impartial investigation, and said inquiries should also be launched into how it was possible for such crimes to be committed for so long.

The U.S. Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

And the US Justice Department, staunch protectors of pedophiles, remains silent.

to the sea in that house on the island. If someone got carried away and killed one of the girls, they would throw them down there. These people are evil. Looks like a lot of those lurid stories about famous people involved in paedophilia turned out to be at least partially true. If this is all aired out properly, it could have repercussions for years to come. I hope we get a full accounting of the people involved. A lot of them belong in prison.

I sure agree with you that these abusers belong in prison and it sounds like some may even be murderers.

Because too many rich influential people were involved. Then when they put him prison finally they managed to hide all he did just to go after him and not the others. Maxwell will probably get a pardon to keep her mouth shut about Trump.

People were threatened to keep mouth shut and I bet they made anyone working for them and the girls sign NDA's.

will never allow that investigation to happen, nor will we be subject to any jurisdiction on the matter.

Too many powerful, rich people either committing crimes or participating in crimes, or both. And frankly, this country's leadership let it happen for the aforementioned reason, I fear. Sorry if that hurts anyone's feelings.
