This is a Republican admission that the twisted Epstein web runs right through the White House and its donor class. No full release, no accountability, just excuses, redactions, and attacks on anyone pushing for the truth.
Massies words are a reminder that even some in the GOP are starting to see the rot. Its a system where the powerful protect their own, no matter the party. And the elite accountability we were promised? Nowhere in sight.

(24,518 posts)I did hear him spouting some real RW stuff on other topics (not Epstein related) a few days ago, though, so he probably wants to stay in the party because he thinks he has chance in 2028.

(3,310 posts)Going indy and staying in the caucus is a whole lot of nothing other than grandstanding. Synema did that to much pearl clutching and nonsense.
I suppose it dominates the news cycle for a while, and that is a benefit... but I don't trust him.

(2,528 posts)Massie is right that you can define the principles represented by every key player (all the Cabinet Secretaries, plus Miller, Bannon, Musk, Bezos, Theil, Leo, the corrupt SCOTUS and the others driving the agenda) with one adjective: "Epsteinish".
That is to say, completely lawless, no loyalty to anybody, more comfortable with dictators than democracies, insanely obsessed with power and money, and unable to control the most basic impulses, particularly sex, even when it comes to raping children.
The GOP became an empty vessel that Trump was able to take over. Almost no Republicans were happy with that, but they were all cowards in the face of a world-class bully. We gave them multiple opportunity to stop all of this, and even then they couldn't gather enough courage to do anything.
