Moderna CEO essentially backs out of the majority of the vaccine market
You cannot make a return on investment if you dont have access to the U.S. market, Bancel told Bloomberg...
and
Moving forward, Bancel told Bloomberg that Moderna will no longer put money into late-stage vaccine studies, though it remains unclear if the CEO was speaking of all vaccines or just those for infectious diseases.
After the FDA moved the goalposts on Moderna after it had invested significant amounts of time effort and money to get a novel mRNA flu vaccine to be reviewed. Now they will be backing out of that part of the market in the US and you can bet most others will follow.
The harm this will do to medical research and development in the US is significant and the harm overall the FDA has done in such a short time is evident by the pace of medical breakthroughs being released around the world within weeks of the US leaving WHO makes it clear that the US is no longer a leader in medical research and development and we are all in serious trouble.

I think they will continue to update those but anything new or in development for infectious diseases will not be done in the US.
I forgot to post the reference article but it's in there now.

(11,934 posts)5. I think but honest don't know
That they would continue to update the existing shot for COVID. I think this is mainly about developing new cures and treatments. In the article it says it will shelf 11 different programs that were developing new vaccines for different diseases.
