180,000 jobs in 2025 is a Major Story.

If a Democrat were President, this would get non-stop coverage for a week.
Trump has the worst economy since...he was President, and a few articles here and there.
Remember when inflation was the #1 story for weeks, even after it came down from 9% to under 3%?
Yes, I know, we no longer have an independent Press.

BTW, under Biden in 2023 and 2024 there were 3,00,000 and 2,200,000 jobs created respectively.

The function of technology has always been to replace human skill, strength, knowledge and initiative with machines. Machines don't complain, go on strike, demand weekends off, demand lunch breaks, take sick time, etc. Software is just another machine without form.

The ultimate goal, it appears, is a society for the tiny elite that receives all the benefits of the wealth this technology produces, while the rest starve. The logical result, however, will be endless corporate wars where oligarchs line us up as soldiers to fight other unemployed schmucks to further the oligarchs' insatiable greed. It will likely be the only "employment" available if they have their way.

And MAGAts live in fealty to the oligarchs. "The rich are rich because they're smarter and better than us," they think. "If you're so smart, why aren't you rich" is another line they like to throw around. At least until they feel it personally, then they cry.

And we are supposed to believe 130,000 were added in January. Right after the holidays we added as many as almost a whole year 😂

on a weekly, even daily, basis, that people are continuously distracted. When we have ICE terrorizing and even killing people, a jobs report is probably rather lackluster.

With Biden, most of the news stories were normal and to some probably on the boring side - that tends to be what a regular presidency looks like.

That said, you are right, that should have been a huge story. Honestly, when I saw 180,000 jobs, I just assumed it was for the month of January and I'll bet a lot of other people did as well. If the media had focused more on it, people might have taken more notice.

The latest (the February 11 jobs report) is that 2.515 million jobs were created in 2023, 1.459 million in 2024, and 0.181 million (181,000) in 2025

Here's how the payroll jobs numbers looked before the new Feb 11 report

https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/CES0000000001?output_view=net_1mth
Non-farm payroll jobs, monthly changes in thousands

Year Jan Feb Mar etc. etc.
2022] 225 869 471 305 241 461 696 237 227 400 297 126
2023] 444 306 85 216 227 257 148 157 158 186 141 269
2024] 119 222 246 118 193 87 88 71 240 44 261 323
2025] 111 102 120 158 19 -13 72 -26 108 -173 56 50

Here's how it looks now:

(in thousands)
Year Jan Feb Mar etc. etc.
2022] 190 819 490 308 301 434 714 290 220 357 303 100
2023] 434 290 68 241 280 225 163 218 156 159 127 154
2024] 175 206 228 64 78 87 53 9 155 33 134 237
2025] -48 42 67 108 13 -20 64 -70 76 -140 41 48

and January 2026 is 130

Differences, in thousands (these are the revisions)

Year Jan Feb Mar etc. etc.
2022] -35 -50 19 3 60 -27 18 53 -7 -43 6 -26
2023] -10 -16 -17 25 53 -32 15 61 -2 -27 -14 -115
2024] 56 -16 -18 -54 -115 0 -35 -62 -85 -11 -127 -86
2025] -159 -60 -53 -50 -6 -7 -8 -44 -32 33 -15 -2

Annual Totals, in thousands

Year Before After Difference
2022] 4555 4526 -29
2023] 2594 2515 -79
2024] 2012 1459 -553
2025]  584  181 -403

2025 comes out to an average of 15k jobs/month. If you remove January, it is 21k/month. A barely above-the-waterline record.

(Biden was president for most of January, and more importantly the Establishment Survey that produces the job numbers was conducted in the January 12-16 period, before the inauguration.)

Biden took 10 times the criticism in 2024 when his job market produced over 2 million jobs than Trump took for 2025 when virtually no jobs were created.

The media is gone, they work for the oligarchy. Trump's tariffs imploded the job market and working people will be paying the price for years.
