Democrats launch 7-figure program to train campaign staffers ahead of November

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is rolling out a program Thursday that’s looking to train both new and current campaign staffers on a variety of skills as both parties ready themselves for the November midterms.

Called the NextWave Regional Bootcamp training program, the DNC will be hosting three-day boot camps, which are being created together with state parties and coordinated campaigns, in “target states” to teach staffers different skills — including organizing, fundraising and voter registration.

The committee said the program, which is being launched with a seven-figure investment, will be geared toward two different types of operatives: One for midlevel campaign staffers with more experience and a separate entry-level track for staffers newer to campaigns.

The first two boot camps are set to take place in the swing states of North Carolina and Arizona.

Good. However, I hope they will match with a big investment in state party infrastructure. pat_k 22 hrs ago #1

We must work to end the "parachute in" model of campaigning. Strong state parties that are building deeper and ongoing connections with voters are an asset that campaigns too often ignore -- to their detriment.

I highly recommend investing what you are able to in the Hopium Audacious Expansion Fund

And check out Simon's interviews with state party chairs, starting with Alaska's chair Eric Croft

Building effective state party infrastructure that campaigns can plug into is perhaps our most urgent challenge in the battle to redeem our national soul.
