(52,636 posts)He just says whatever comes to mind and that is almost always the opposite of reality.

(52,636 posts)I'm getting a visual of his mind and it is pretty "scant" indeed. Also chaotic.
I think he believes he has a magic brain and anything he can imagine will come true just by his pronouncements or royal edicts. Perhaps his time on The Apprentice contributed to this magical thinking.
Mr. Magic Brain.

(3,228 posts)Then he went on to study with some kind of positive thinking guru (read that as charlatan), mix it with the very toxic teachings of Roy Cohn of never admitting fault or taking responsibility, and voilà! We get the pathological liar and cheating con man, who thinks he can create reality just by insisting his version exists.
Add in the bigoted idiot rubes who want the fantasies that he's selling, and here we are.

(52,636 posts)Throw in Roy Cohn and what a toxic mix that is. It feels like once Trump "learns" something, he seems incapable of unlearning it. He doesn't backtrack or admit he's wrong. I wonder what Norman Vincent Peale would think of Trump's application of his positive-thinking teaching.

(52,833 posts)It was in a field. On one side it said, Farmers For Trump. On the other side it said, Promises Made, Promises Kept.
I sort of know the farmer who put this up. He absolutely believes it.

(7,730 posts)The thing about Trump though, he has a very limited attention span.
He can make promises that sound good, but soon forgets he made them.
Then he gets upset when people complain he is not delivering on his promises.
Fair enough, he forgot he made them, why can't you? /sarcasm
The True Believers will tell themselves 'Any Day Now!' while the rest of us go 'WTF Donny?'
