I just woke up so I won't be able to explain this well. Something I noticed yesterday Re: Guthrie suspect pic

I find this interesting.

You know those optical illusions that you sometimes find online? Something along the lines of "stare at the dot in the center of this picture, and then look at the wall. What do you see"?

What I'm talking about here is something like that, but not exactly like that.

If you look at the close-up picture that was published of the subject in the ski mask...there is actually quite a bit of skin exposed. You can see his eyes, his eyebrows, and a mustache.

If you kind of un-focus your eyes, or look at the picture differently than you would by using your normal vision, one can *almost* visualize what his face might look like.

Now, neither you nor I would be able to identify him this way, but someone who was familiar with this person might be able to identify him easily, just by changing their focus on the face. There is just enough skin visible to do that successfully.

Plus we have his approximate height weight and general level of fitness. Looks to me like they have some athleticism in their background

could be seen. I wonder if the tools used to reconstruct a face from a skeleton could construct what shape of the nose, chin and overall shape of the face. That might help someone who knows the person well.
