I've got to reinvent this internet.

2. I copied it from a comment on Bluesky. I didn't realize it came from X. In fact, I didn't know that was possible.

Instead of real paragraphs like we have here, they copied the "cram an entire 5 pages into a bubble"

That's all.

What I added was readability, something terribly lost on the internet. I gripe about it on Hacker News, where people know all about web design, and even on nice sites like Wordpress, we get a tiny column of text surrounded at best by empty space or at worst, ads and an index to the past 5 years of posts.

If something is interesting, I clean it up with an extension or print to a PDF, which uses a highly readable style sheet. So it looks like --- TA DA --- A BOOK!

It's called progress. It ain't.

Time for some coffee!!
Cheers

5. Looks like the author crammed text into the little bubble by copying images of text.

I got my browser to open each image in a new tab, and since their links are meaningless to DU, saved them an uploaded to an image host. Simple, eh?

My point is that Nobody should have to do this just to read or share information.

For the sake of readability or just getting a picture to work on this site, I do all kinds of tricks that only computer veterans can do.

That's very wrong.

Once in a while, I post my bag of tricks, like how to get nicely formatted transcripts of videos, but it's several steps, to get around what sites (namely YouTube) should have done in the first place.

Like so

And I totally understand how the average person wouldn't and shouldn't have to do so.

There was only one Steve Jobs who really cared about the users, and he's gone.
