Why I think Mikey is going to delay the Epstein vote

I think that when he scheduled it for this Tuesday when he originally could have delayed it until December, he was instructed to do that by Trump because they realized they were starting to hear about some possible Republican defections and wanted to keep those defections to a minimum. A small majority passing the bill would be good for them because there'd be no real pressure on the Senate. Maybe they thought they could even flip one of the 4 who signed the petition and even defeat the bill. But then the dump came from the Dems on the House Oversight Committee and they began to hear about more and more defections.

Now, according to both Dem and Rep sources, there may very well be widespread Repub defections, maybe even approval by more than 2/3 of the House, which would put tremendous pressure on the Senate.

So I think Trump will call Mikey and tell him there is no vote this week, to delay it until December, and then in December to come up with some other excuse to push it to January, etc. Surely Mikey can't allow a vote now that would jeopardize a pending DOJ investigation. Horrors!

Because of the discharge petition, the vote moves to the top of the list of pending business before the house, and nothing else can be done or considered or voted on until this resolution is voted on.

the harder Mike and Cheeto and Blondi work to delay a vote about pediphiles, the guiltier they look to many of their former supporters. I mean, Trump is underwater with almost 3/4 of the voters, left and right, between demolishing the social safety net, fucking over US farmers while gifting billions to Argentina, setting the ICE Gestapo loose on peaceful American cities, and ripping down the East Wing during a hissy fit in the middle of the night… Hiding the files longer is not going to save him. Or any of his lackey enablers.

1. With one or two exceptions, he has obeyed court rulings that have restrained his administration’s actions
2. He must obey the laws of physics- if a new president is sworn in and becomes CIC, Trump has no mechanism to stay in the White House, let alone the presidency- he can’t stop a new president from being sworn in unless he mounts a successful military coup (not going to happen)
3. In Johnson’s case, all it takes is one rep to move to vacate the chair, and he isn’t speaker anymore. Such a motion is a point of order and cannot be blocked by Johnson (otherwise McCarthy would still be speaker)

I agree we will probably never see the files the government has, but we will see those held by the Epstein estate, and if we are really lucky those files may duplicate the ones held by DOJ. Epstein was no dope and I bet he had just about everything backed up at multiple locations. Just by looking at his phone listings you can see how meticulous he was. He may have also backed them of as a kind of personal "insurance" in case he needed it.

They'll almost have to vote to release them. Let Trump veto it. And if he does, there will be even more talk about the files.

We would need 20 Senate Republicans to make it veto proof. There is also the steady drips coming from the Epstein estate that may help thing along. From what I understand it is only a small fraction of what they have and no one knows what is left to come.

But if the Senate passes, it'll put a lot of heat on Trump. He'll veto it, which will just keep it in the news.

And if a large number of Republicans in the House vote for it, I wonder if Evil Mike will continue on as Speaker. That'll be a pretty big slap in his face.

I believe that Johnson flipped on the timing of the vote---
(especially in light of the recent email dumps)

Now they know it is inevitable, they would rather get it over sooner and further from
the 2026 elections, rather than closer to them---
giving more time for American voters to 'forget', rather than 'less time'...

I don't think Johnson does anything without Trump's prior approval and if Trump now, tells him to delay the vote he'll do it without hesitation.
