a "high public safety risk", "national security threat" etc. most of this administration and their leader would be gone along with a major swath from the House and Senate. Sadly for this country that statement is more factual rather than sarcasm.

(28,493 posts)think it's fine to deport U.S. citizens. It is not. Period. If they're so awful, put them in jail. But once we start deporting U.S. citizens, it's all over. That's right up there with deciding freed slaves should not have been made citizens.

(9,056 posts)and would encourage you to read my OP again. Nowhere do I advocate for deporting US citizens. My comment calls out the fascist government criteria that they apply to people, per their court filings, and rightly notes that if those criteria were applied to themselves most of them would fit that definition as well. Your extrapolation of my comment to imply I would somehow advocate to deport freed slaves is quite a stretch even considering a muddled interpretation of my post.
I am taking the time to correct your misinterpretation because lately it seems that we have an increase of people "reading into" posts and comments things and meanings that just are not there. Sometimes my responses to correct misinterpretation have ended up in long drawn out back and forth posting where I end up spending a great deal of time responding to even more misinterpretation and false claims about intent etc. I'm hoping you take this response from me in the spirit it is given about correcting your misimpression/misinterpretation and not as some indication to go back and forth endlessly on a simple matter. You strike me as too intelligent to engage in that sort of thing.

(171,704 posts)I think that could be interpreted as advocating deportation of some of our government folk.

(9,056 posts)reading into it more than what is on the face is incorrect.

(28,493 posts)While, like everyone, I want to think I'm always correct about everything, I do realize I'm often wrong about lots of things. And I really, truly, honestly appreciate being corrected.
Your original post does say "deporting", and refers to members of the administration, all or most of whom are citizens. Yes, you've been more than polite. Thank you,
