Some really good replies too...
Trump is a mental and physical mess. Mentally, he's never been fit to serve as President. Now, he's not even fit to serve food at McDonald's. He's lying at an unprecedented pace. The lies are rudimentary and unmistakable in their falsity. They're defensive and deflective. He is unable to curtail political partisanship in any oratory - not with foreign leaders, not at the UN, not with the military, not anywhere. His malice is over the top, and his incendiary rhetoric is worsening.
Physically, he can barely sustain public view for any length of time. His neurological deterioration is progressing. And - pathology and neurology aside - he is an obese man in his late 70's, with severe stress, near-constant rage, who washes cheeseburgers down with diet soda, overuses Adderall, never exercises, and is kept alive with IVs and meds. A total mess.
The mainstream media cannot continue to be fixated on normalizing Trump and perpetuating false equivalencies. He is clearly decompensating and dangerous. He's being scoffed at all over the world. What's the point of reporting what he says - it's just rage and false wall to wall blather and nonsensicality?
When does reporting him properly become a requirement or obligation? When do TV networks ask psychologists to comment about it on the air?
We're here, as we always have been.

I really wish wed stop calling them the mainstream media. Thats a meaningless term. Call them what they are, the corporate media, who long ago stopped telling the truth when it might get in the way of making a profit.
Saying that trumps health is declining isnt speculative, its visible and out there for the world to see. Slurred rants, paranoia, incoherence, physical frailty. Media cant keep normalizing this. At some point, reporting his words without context becomes complicity. Were way past that point.
Apparently hes fit enough to get out with colleagues to play golf, which offers some exercise, especially since hes carrying extra weight.
So, will he be with us until 2028, or will JD take over? And would life under JD be better or worse?
There was a spotlight on Biden's health every second in the media - but crickets from the media on trump's health. It's journalistic malpractice at the minimum.
Because of his rapid decline, we are seeing a mad scramble within the administration to consolidate power before he becomes so bad that they can no longer medicate him up enough for public appearances.
Pushing up all their planned operations by like 6 months.

(6,656 posts)1. Imagine teaching a leadership class at a university
and knowing that Trump models virtually none of the behaviors that we associate with effective and ethical leadership. Good times.
