https://www.axios.com/2025/10/05/trump-netanyahu-call-gaza-peace-deal-hamasWhen Hamas came back with a "yes, but" to President Trump's Gaza peace proposal on Friday, Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss what he saw as good news.
Netanyahu felt differently. "Bibi told Trump this is nothing to celebrate, and that it doesn't mean anything," a U.S. official with knowledge of the call told Axios. Trump fired back: "I don't know why you're always so f***ing negative. This is a win. Take it."
Why it matters: The exchange, which a second U.S. official confirmed, reflects how determined Trump is to push through Netanyahu's reservations, and convince him to end the war if Hamas will make a deal.
Driving the news: In its official response to Trump's plan, Hamas said it's willing to release all remaining hostages in return for an end to the war and a full Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza. But the group requested negotiations on many of the details.

(3,853 posts)4. So Israel amended the Plan AFTER it had been presented to Arab/Muslim nations.
Of course inserting conditions that these nations, had they known about them, would not have accepted.
How is this deception allowed to continue??
Netanyahu turned it into a complete surrender package not just of the war but of Palestinians' future, freedom and self-determination.
On the other, the plan contained sweeping proposals that, if implemented, would have grave implications, not just for Gaza, but for the future of a unified Palestinian state. It included plans for the deployment of foreign troops and the establishment of an international board, headed by Trump and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to effectively dictate Gazas affairs. It also would leave open the likelihood of a long-term Israeli military presence inside Gaza and the total disarmament of Palestinians, erasing their right to resist Israeli occupation. Trumps overarching message was that Palestinians must surrender their fight for liberation and submit to subjugation.
Hamas alone has no mandate to agree to all this. They can't.
The plan was deceptively amended by Netanyahu so it would be sure to be rejected.
