did not go along with the vocal groups content to throw Biden under the bus and/or to deny the commitment he had made to help us recover from and prevent another Trump term.

If anyone is in contact with her, maybe she is ready to at least lurk to see... She is missed.

Alive & Kickin'

Thanks to everyone who has asked about my health and wellbeing. I have been dealing with some health issues of late, and decided that a bit of a vacation from politics might be in order.

I still check into DU every day, but have limited my time here and on other political sites so as not to threaten my mental/emotional stability. One can only listen to so much insanity spewing from the MAGAts - and I hit my personal limit a while back.

I firmly believe that we as a nation will be all right, that common sense and common decency will prevail in the end. I'm just really tired of listening to the bullshit between now and then - the inanity, the insanity, the lies, the cries, the whimpering, the hyperbole, the hypocrisy, the martyrdom, the persecution, the victimhood, the yada-yada-yada entreaties of those who believe that Joe Biden is
a body-double because the 'real Biden' was executed years ago.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I just can't]/i]. I just can't pretend that obvious idiots have a functioning brain.

It's the best I could do. This was her explanation then, for an extended absence then, which may hold relevance or provide background information for today.

What do you think? Was it helpful? Was I wrong to post it? Should I self-delete?

Bullshit. I did no such thing. Click the link, the date is there for anyone to see. Read the words, the time period will be clear from the context of her words. Easy!

>> you could have been honest with us and said what you said in your 2nd post.
Ah... nice insult! Charming. With the obvious insinuation that I'm being "dishonest"... I must ask... what good purpose is being served in doing that? What exactly is the motivation behind this type of backhanded personal attack? I haven't attacked anyone. Why would anyone feel it's appropriate to attack me? I've always felt that comments like that are... revealing.

I sincerely apologize. I liked your 2nd post it was much more accurate.

I don't always click on links.

All of this angst over a simple question, I miss her too.

>> I don't see it as a personal attack,
When anyone fails to see a backhanded personal attack in telling someone that they need to be "honest" (clearly implying intentional dishonesty) it reveals much. Although you and I have had strong disagreements in the past, I've never taken it to a personal level with you on any topic.

>> I don't always click on links.
That's not my problem.

I acknowledge your apology, but the characterization of the insult as being a "simple question" kinda ruins everything and causes me to doubt the actual sincerity. It's right up there with the classic non-apology of "I'm sorry if anyone was offended."

Goodbye.

... upon returning, I find much less time to be on Facebook and Nextdoor and the Internet, generally.

Seeing how much world there is outside of the internet was an experience long overdue.

Social media are time-sucks. I am coming to DU more often, tho.

Need to go back to the UK or EU.

Very Tearful Farewell

Still reeling from Monday's devastating SCOTUS decision, I came back to DU today in hopes of finding the comfort and camaraderie I have always found here, along with a sense of renewed commitment to fight the good fight in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds.

What I found instead was post after post about how "Joe must go".

"But what about his debate performance" is the new "But what about her emails."

"We'll do just fine with a different candidate." In other words. let's tell voters that Democrats will fight for democracy, freedom, and the Constitution - we just won't fight for our own President.

Joe has had our backs for three and a half years. It is beyond sad that so many people here no longer have his.

And with that said, I leave DU. I just want to offer a final thank you to EarlG and Elad for all they've done in the past, and to all of you who have befriended me over the years. I will miss you more than I can say.

With a corrupt MAGA Supreme Court in place, our democracy is hanging by a thread. Our best chance to salvage what's left of that democracy is Joe Biden, a proven fighter.

I simply don't want to be around those who can't move fast enough to throw him under the bus.
