Yet, somehow, even in an era of presidential meme coins and library fund shakedowns, voters in the critical congressional districts see Democrats as the corrupt ones.
Impact Research the exalted Democratic pollster used by the presidential campaigns of Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama as well as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, and the Democratic Governors Association is out with new research likely to turn the stomachs of the firms current and former clients.
The survey of frontline congressional districts, conducted on behalf of the liberal watchdog End Citizens United and shared exclusively with Rolling Stone, found that, across these districts, voters see Democrats as more corrupt than Republicans.
In a rage-blackout-inducing twist, the polling also found that, despite the staggering, previously unfathomable scale of corruption that Trump has brazenly engaged in since re-taking office, the presidents rating on corruption runs eight points ahead of his approval number in the districts surveyed.

(590 posts)I sometimes wonder what kids are doing all day at school.
I have 12 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 7 to 19. I dont know if theyre representative or not, but the ones who are smart are very smart (four of them), and the ones who arent, well
they get by, I suppose. There doesnt seem to be any who are fair to middlin. The ones youd expect to be in the meaty part of the bell curve.
What annoys me most is how incurious they are about basically everything. And you can forget anything civics-related! I found myself at the kiddie table at Christmas, and I was quizzing them about who our governor, Senators, Representatives and other politicians. Only a couple of them could name some of them. (sigh)

(29,704 posts)There are two episodes but one is about Ohio Republicans which shows how corrupt they are though a lot of the corruption is technically legal thanks to Citizens United. The fact they dedicated an entire 1 hour and a half documentary to a state Republican party still shows that Democrats are nowhere near being as corrupt as Republicans with a few exceptions like Menendez & Eric Adams but overall the Republicans are a lot more corrupt than Democrats.

(114,256 posts)In 2006 I posted often here that corruption of Bush WH was becoming obvious to American voters. The pundits were surprised in Nov when corruption was the number one issue to voters in exit polling.
Develop an anti-corruption strategy and swarm the airwaves for the next 16 months.

(697 posts)Its extremely obvious that Republicans are involved in more corruption yet voters see completely opposite? I think theres some data skew here.

(15,218 posts)Republicans spend 24 hours a day negatively framing Dems/Libs, 99% distortions or flat lies, while Dems can't bring themselves to hit Republicans on their actual bad actions.
This has always impacted the way the country thinks about liberals and dems.
But, now w DT and maga its an absolute firehouse every waking second ...

(3,465 posts)People in leadership have been asleep at the wheel for way too long (maybe 10-15 years) with no central themes or messaging that break through. Republicans have successfully painted a distorted picture of Democrats and it's working in their favor.

(I can only see their .jpg images, nothing copyable). Amazingly, their first recommendation is "Keep the focus on Congress, rather than Trump or Elon" (written before the break-up, of course). Apparently, the focus groups are dumb enough to have fallen for "drain the swamp", and see Trump as an "outsider". His extensive history of corruption and bribery, via his DC hotel, for instance, means little to uninformed voters, or his conviction for falsifying his business records.
Me, I'd say "shout about the obvious corruption in the Trump family - and by all means say the Republicans in Congress are complicit in supporting him. Call out any individual Republicans who are corrupt too."
