The group places support for Israel over all over considerations, endorsing extreme rightwing candidates in the midterm elections

AIPACs new political action committee announces its first string of Congressional endorsements. They are 120 lawmakers from both parties, but also includes 37 Republicans who voted against certifying the 2020 presidential election results after the January 6 insurrection drawing criticism from rival lobby J Street.
AIPACs support for these candidates endangers American democracy and undermines the true interests and values of millions of American Jews and pro-Israel Americans who they often claim to represent, says Laura Birnbaum, J Streets National Political Director.
Claims of bipartisanship cannot excuse support for candidates who only respect election results when their party wins, the group adds.
Responding to the criticism, AIPAC spokesman Marshall Wittmann says, as a single-issue organization, we remain focused on our mission of building bipartisan support in Congress to strengthen the US-Israel relationship.

(12,314 posts)While I am appalled at whats happening in Gaza, Im also aware that this person is impersonating NY Mamdani to make it look like he made these tweets.
Check your sources, people. Whoever made these posts is using the horrors of Gaza to damage Mandamis campaign.

What Netanyahu is doing has become a crime humanity, but I'm not going to blanketly condemn a whole country when I've seen the massive Anti-Netanyahu protests there.

While most scholars are in consensus that the main cause of the famine was largely man-made, it remains in dispute whether the Holodomor was intentional, whether it was directed at Ukrainians, and whether it constitutes a genocide, the point of contention being the absence of attested documents explicitly ordering the starvation of any area in the Soviet Union. Some historians conclude that the famine was deliberately engineered by Joseph Stalin to eliminate a Ukrainian independence movement. Others suggest that the famine was primarily the consequence of rapid Soviet industrialisation and collectivization of agriculture. A middle position is that the initial causes of the famine were an unintentional byproduct of the process of collectivization but once it set in, starvation was selectively weaponized, and the famine was "instrumentalized" and amplified against Ukrainians as a means to punish them for resisting Soviet policies and to suppress their nationalist sentiments.
