Ummm so let me get this straight: Republicans have ground Congress to a halt and are considering adjourning the entire House for 6 weeks to avoid releasing the info they have on Epstein?

What is going on here?

Unti the Redskins/Commanders and Indians/Guardians issue is resolved.

This is a top priority, and no one goes home until the matter is settled.

MAGA Insurrectionists are once again proving to be the conniving, cowardly, underhanded SCUM they are.

Always remember: No low, TOO low for them.

Democrats in that file as they had hoped. Otherwise, it would be plastered everywhere and we’d hear nothing but what’s in these Epstein files. It must be pretty bad for all these skanky republicans.

the necessity of voting down the release of the files. I’m not in any way throwing shade on AOC for whom I have the greatest respect, and clearly she’s shorthanding for the sake of brevity and clarity, but it’s even more pathetic than she states.

In session passing bad laws that Dems can't stop and all those idiot "investigations" into Obama and Biden and everything Democratic. Why would they investigate Epstein when there is so much that the Dems did that needs condemning

If the press does their jobs they don't need the files, they can dig up witnesses and stories on their own, and I don't know what stopped them to begin with.

I see this as a good thing. AOC shouldn't complain she can go out on more town halls and talk about epstein and policies.

They look like they are protecting the pedo (which one?) and no more stupid MAGA bills. We need to run out the clock on this Congress as best we can. We have about a year before campaigning begins again.

Top secret: at work we had an administrator who was a genius in "getting nothing done"

I had just replaced the porcelain throne at home, so I cleaned up the old one real nice, and replaced his work seat with it, undoubtedly much more suitable for extended sessions of meditation instead of actual work.

How I got it past the guards is lost to fading memory. Truly a great accomplishment.

Well, our do-nothing administrator apparently got a burst of productivity, and it vanished rather quickly.

You see, there are ways to motivate people.

And to smuggle potties into aerospace facilities. And who knows, maybe that seat replaced an ultra expensive one for (redacted) Corporation.

As far as I ever remember, the House has done no Epstein-related investigations. I remember some talk awhile back about investigating the original sentencing he got back in the aughts, re: why it was such a cushy deal. IIRC that was when Acosta was being considered for an important role in the first Trump admin (or maybe he already had the role when the Miami Herald story came out?), but I don't recall it ever happening.

So, what 'info' is she talking about?

which is the branch would have actually done a thorough investigation as part of bringing charges, first against Epstein, then against Maxwell. As far as I can find, the House has not done any investigation on Epstein. For the record I'm a big AOC fan, I'm just asking what info is she talking about, not trying to 'put her in her place'. Apparently you don't know what info they have either

To release documents relating to Epstein, or start tracing money from and to him to find out how far his potential corruption has gone.
Just like Comer and Traitor-Green going after Hunter Biden, you know...
But unlike Hunter Biden, who is only guilty of being an addict, getting a gun illegally, maybe using his family name to get an edge on getting hired, and f'ing around on his taxes; Epstein had corrupt links to various high levels business and political leaders.

The wording "avoid releasing the info they have on Epstein" implies that this information is already gathered/existing, in possession of the House GOP, just waiting to be put out there. They've done no formal investigation of their own, so when did the House come into possession of this evidence? Did they requisition it from DoJ and DoJ complied? When did that happen? Those sorts of questions are what I meant
