New Federal SNAP Database Notice is a Call to Action for Data Privacy Protections for Working Families, Immigrants

Under the guise of ensuring the "integrity" of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) the USDA has proposed that states be required to share personal information of SNAP enrollees, including immigration status. This has nothing to do with "integrity" and will most likely be used for nefarious purposes. USDA is accepting comments on this proposal through July 23rd.
