Is ex-Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney the NY Dems' best chance against Lawler after 2022 loss?

He won and served five terms in Congress, led campaign strategy for his fellow House Democrats, and lost his sixth race by just 1,820 votes in one of the nation's closest House races.

So is former Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney the right candidate for Democrats to pit against Republican Rep. Mike Lawler to win back the House seat they most want to gain in New York? Or would they be foolish to trust Maloney in a rematch against the second-term incumbent who unseated him — when plenty of other would-be challengers are already building up their campaigns?

I like him when he was representing our District. He was a good representative. Poor decision by other Democrats to push him out didn't help.

Barely made a campaign effort.
He
Lost his ambition and hasn’t found it. He is smart, a nice guy, family man, stands up for what is right but somehow he lost the fire in the belly. I hope he finds it.
