I found someone cheering on war in Israel as a way to bring back Jesus

The reason that many republicans can’t be trusted on on Israel is that many of them believe that war in Israel will bring back the “biblical” apocalypse and the “return of Jesus as King of Israel.” I found one of these people saying these things on video, and it’s the Christian Broadcasting Network of all places.

I don’t recommend watching this unless you actually want to see two people hoping for war to bring on the “beauty” that will come after the death and destruction.

I also have to wonder how many of these end times nuts are closely advising Trump to join the war. Hopefully there is someone around him that can explain that these guys are crazy.

Yet here we are. Our Ambassador to Israel, Huckabee, is one. There are others.

Christian End-Timers often masquerade as pro-Israel and pro-Jewish, but they are neither. Their true allies are the Ultra-Orthodox, who refuse to recognize the legitimacy of the modern State of Israel because it was founded by humans and not directly by the Messiah.

The fact that the Christian side of the equation believes all Jews who don’t convert will spend eternity in Hell is apparently neither here nor there — both sides fervently believe God will favor them.

Both groups believe certain things must be accomplished in this world in order to fulfill prophecies and bring the coming of the Messiah (Jewish) or the Second Coming of the Messiah (Christian) . Details vary, obviously, but none of them involve kindness, just a lot of smiting and destruction in every direction. Eyes on the world to come, never on the world we are in now.
