NEW Political Ad Has Republicans FREAKING OUT
The Dangerous Ones

4,455 views Jun 18, 2025 The Dangerous Ones

On this explosive episode of The Dangerous Ones, Jim, Tiffany, and Nick break down the jaw-dropping new ad from Progress Action Fund that’s got the White House, and Fox News scrambling. The ad, which dramatizes ICE agents kidknapping a young woman based on only her appearance,
is already going viral for its shocking realism and political punch. We dig into the strategy behind the ad’s powerful narrative, its brutal takedown of Republican immigration policy, and how it successfully shifts young male voters away from the GOP by up to four points. You’ll hear why bold, cinematic political storytelling is finally catching fire on the left, and why this ad may be one of the most effective of 2025.

We also spotlight the creators behind the movement, Joe Jacobson and Kyle Richards, and examine how Progress Action Fund’s disruptive messaging and data-driven ad testing is changing the game for Democratic campaigns in swing states. From Fox News backlash to Gen Z engagement, this episode covers the intersection of viral media, modern voter suppression, targeted political messaging, and the urgent fight for civil rights. Plus, the hosts reflect on their own approach at Eleven Films and how this new wave of political content is reshaping the battle for hearts, minds, and votes.

Trump was quoted as justifying the assault and handcuffing of Senator Padilla because he "looked" Hispanic. At one time a remark like that by a US president would have been considered outrageous and condemned.

Unvarnished truth.

I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday, lifelong Republican. She is horrified by what's going on. She said the clips of ICE agents chasing migrants through the California fields brought her to tears. The lies about the No Kings protest made her angry as hell. She's lost life-long friends and experienced hurtful family arguments.

She can't wait for the 2026 midterms when she'll be voting a straight Democratic ticket.

We win back the country, one citizen at a time until our numbers are indisputable, our determination burns with the light of a million suns.

Ads like this do penetrate.

Unvarnished truth speaks to our humanity, our better selves. No screaming, no name calling.

No wonder the WH is freaking out.

The ad shows this powerfully.

Trump is Elmer FUD.

Techies know FUD as Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt.

He and his co-conspirators both locally and global in death and destruction must go down to defeat, and go down together, they will.

The point is that EVERYTHING Trump and the GOP put forward is a distraction from the cause of problems in the U.S. and the entire world. It is the insane concentration of wealth.

And their distraction is primarily racism and fear of minorities, projecting their own emptiness, fears, weaknesses and failures.

It works not only on rednecks, but on so-called "upscale" people.

The source of the Elmer Fudd graphic points out:
https://jamesstrauss.com/elmer-fudd/

My neighbor ... who is in the investment business, was walking his dog near my house yesterday afternoon between snow falls. I stopped to idle for a bit next to him while he waited. He had some things to say about Donald Trump. He’s very enthusiastic. And it was mostly about race but race was not openly discussed. It was about how the denser populations (blacks) in downtown Milwaukee and Chicago all have free cell phones paid for by the government. Those will now have to be turned in for alarm clocks because these people are finally going to have to work. The problems with America have all risen from parts of the population not working and living off those who do work.

Point Number 1 of business, overarching capitalism, is that business people make money through the labor of others. (2) And they demean that labor, and devalue it, when it is the foundation of the economy and a source of stability. Have you noticed the "stability" lately?

Rather than fill this page with words, I refer you to Oxfam's discussion of this matter.

Their report "Takers, not Makers" PDF
https://webassets.oxfamamerica.org/media/documents/Takers_Not_Makers_CbN1QBy.pdf

And now, we have the Feather Merchant (1) of Venice sticking his ugly mug in our faces. At least, it's not his diminutive tallywacker. Pictured as "The Doge"

WHO is beating the drum on this point? I count Bernie and AOC busting ass all over the country to show up the REAL cause of woes.

Bernie sent this email, and it's to the point.

https://www.democraticunderground.com/13243041

People attending rallies in huge numbers are saying
YES to raising the minimum wage,
YES to expanding Social Security,
YES to guaranteeing health care as a human right,
YES to cutting the cost of prescription drugs,
YES to paid family and medical leave,
YES to equal pay for equal work,
YES to more affordable housing,
YES to making childcare and higher education affordable to all,
YES to taking on the existential threat of climate change.

And most importantly they are saying
YES to a government and an economy that works for all of us and not just the billionaire class and the Oligarchs.

(1) Feather Merchant
During the early days of the US Army, perhaps as early as the Revolutionary War, it was used to describe unscrupulous merchants (perhaps precursors of Haliburton) who would include rocks and other heavy objects to add weight to the feathers sold to the government that were used for soldiers' pillows, mattresses and such, so to increase the contractors profits.
Source: https://www.answers.com/english-language-arts/What_does_feather_merchant_mean

(2) The other biggie is speculation, lately fueled by the "tulip bulb" crypto craze. Of course, for every seller, there's a buyer, A zero-sum game, IMO, but Whether or not there's a Nash Equilibrium, the general rule of markets is that are manipulated to rob the retail investor.

Not at this ad, but what they as a party have devolved into. The end of this ad shows a "going for the homegrowns" quote by Trump. His explicit comment related to homegrown criminals, but we've already seen that "criminality" is subject to the regimes prerogative. IOW, someone simply marching can be considered a criminal for "obstructing" ICE raids.

So in essence, this ad itself can be construed as "obstructing" ICE raids as it gains to curry sympathy for those being terrorized by the police state. Ergo, Trump, Gnome and Miller I believe will attempt to have this type of speech curtailed or worst yet, charges to be filed against the content creators. Hence, "homegrowns" off to the camps.

Outstanding ad. Hope it runs for a long time---with plenty of other such efforts. We need a full-scale drive to implant a wedge between Republican officials and voters, vs. trump. We won't be able to change the minds of the hard-core stormtroopers, but we ought to be able to pare down their numbers enough to favorably impact the next elections.
