Tufts University student Rumeysa Ozturk must be transferred to Vermont while her lawsuit challenging the federal government’s detention of her as it seeks her deportation continues, a federal judge ordered Friday.

Ozturk was arrested by plainclothes officers, some of whom were wearing masks, on March 25 outside her apartment near the Massachusetts university. She was transported to a detention facility in Louisiana via an airport in Vermont.

Ozturk, a Turkish national, was in the United States on a student visa, which was revoked without her knowledge on March 21.

She is among the many university students and teachers who are not U.S. citizens to have visas revoked and deportation proceedings initiated over pro-Palestinian statements or participation in pro-Palestinian protests. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said last month that the administration has revoked hundreds of such visas.

They're claiming her newspaper op ed is a threat to our natuional security. Completely absurd! DHS is so weak, college students might unravel the entire operation!
