It appears that the only legal force that can save us are the Republican majorities in Congress.

When will a coalition of House/Senate Republicans announce their departure from their respective caucuses? That's what we are reduced to.

The Supreme Court gave a blessing to? Their ruling on immunity and Amd 14sec 3 was contradictory tobthecexpress language in the Constitution, that coupled with the billions here and abroad they've taken money from so much so, they had to change the law so they could not be held accoutable.

This IS LAWLESSNESS, and people are dying, irreparable harm is done over and over.

Founding fathers were cognizant of what corporations could do to undermine the Country. That's why they had to appear in front of Congress to determine if their licenses would be renewed.

They are the collaborative Dr. Frankenstein that came up with Trump. Could have stopped him twice in 2017 and 2020,,,,but they didn't. They aided and abetted both of his campaigns. They are complicit, maybe kompromated..

The harsh reality.

Many of them know better but are simply paralyzed with fear over losing their jobs or worse. The rest are true believers in this authoritarian horseshit.

These people are not going to save us. They can’t even save themselves.

we are SO fucked, because Republicans with spines or patriotism are vanishingly rare.

Pretty much zero. A few of them may talk a bit about not doing what he says, but then, they come to heel once they are told to.

They don't care about anything but their personal bottom line: how much is in their bank accounts.

Frankly, they are all acting as if they will never have to face another election.

Only cause that strategy tends to consolidate support within personality cults. And Trump has the most powerful personality cult outside of Bernie so far. If they ran as populist liberals on a Justice Dem-like platform, I could see marginal success.

Private citizens? They can’t compete with corporations and billionaires, and also support progressive Dem candidates.

It wouldn’t take the Republican majorities , it would only take a small number of Republicans, joining with Dems, to create a veto proof majority to revoke Trump’s authority in these “emergency” powers, and if needed, to impeach him.

But, of course, that’s not going to happen.

We may see some defections as the midterms draw closer, especially from reps in swing districts, and especially if there is a severe recession.

But, in any case, there is always the people who, if things get bad enough (such as the collapse of SS and Medicare) will be united in opposition to the corrupt kakistocracy, and will rise up and take to the streets.

Read up on the 3.5% rule :

https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20190513-it-only-takes-35-of-people-to-change-the-world

BTW, 3.5% of the American population is about 11 million people.
