Saw a post on X about Mayor Pete

He’s leading polls for 2028 presidential race. Now we all know how the maga republican movement will think. In the fact that Pete is gay me personally i don’t care one bit as former infantry soldier.
Pete is intelligent sharp and honorable man he pulled tour Afghanistan and Mayor Pete is aggressive as he went on Fox to counter the MAGA B.S. and to me that is smart move.

I tell these maga republicans your people crashed Grindr twice at RNC convention in Milwaukee with burner phones. And from Hannibal humping the alps to today we’ve always had LGBTQ in the ranks just like you as maga republicans have.

MAGA republicans are pious hypocritical clowns in that they are fine with a rapist.

I would worry about the vicious attacks that would be made on him and Chasten and those sweet little kids by homophobic asshats, but do I think he could do an amazing job? Hell, yes! And after seeing just a few examples of him dealing with assorted Faux News jackholes, I am sure he could debate rings around any Republican opponent.

I am skeptical about his ability to win the general election, however, because of all the homophobic bigotry he would face. For that reason, I can't say that he would be my first choice for the nomination. I would have no trouble voting for him in the general election, but I would worry about the outcome (and about what he and his lovely little family would be put through).

i didnt want to b the face at the door, trying to explain away decades of bullshit and lies. i just dont know how it can b done.
however, sometimes it’s after a catastrophe like we r living that the most profound change happens. if there was ever a time for a campaign of- hey white men, you’ve rly screwed the pooch. time to move over.

it works that way in corp america- just look how many failing companies decide it’s time for a woman or minority at the top. they’re the clean up crew.

i think anything can happen in 28.

We all know that Pete is immensely qualified, articulate, extremely intelligent, and a very reasoned person who has a deep grasp of the important issues in the world. He would be an outstanding President.

And practically none of us here care one way or another about sexual identify or gender.

But elections are about counting votes. I fear that any gay, female, or minority candidate will face an immediate deficit of 5 million votes that will be very difficult to overcome considering how much ratf***ery the Republicans do with our elections.

Maybe you are right that after the damage that Musk, Putin and Trump are doing, America will decide to put issues of gender and race aside. But it is a big risk. I know Obama won, but let's be honest:

a) He was an exceptionally charismatic orator
b) Bush had our economy in free-fall toward a depression level
c) McCain was a horrible candidate (although I do admire him), and Palin only made it worse.

I don't think we will get those breaks in 2028.

Obama on #1 but has a calm reassuring delivery like Obama, and an appealing authenticity.

Not so sure we won’t get b & c breaks. We could be in a depression but certainly will have a terrible economy. Who knows who their candidate would be but if it’s Vance that would be a McCain-level break.

We first need to save our Constitutional democracy in 2025, and ensure we have free & fair elections in 2026. Both are existentially at risk.

I would vote for Pete in a heartbeat, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

This administration sees Constitutional rule of law and checks & balances as obstacles to eliminate, then transform its institutions into tools of authoritarian rule.

Putin's Russia has elections guaranteed to keep him in power. It remains to be seen whether we'll have midterm elections in 2026. I expect the protest movement to grow. Rightwing militia types will instigate violence, giving the Orange Furher his pretext to declare martial law. Elections will be rigged, or canceled.

While we still have a semblance of an independent Congress, the survival of our representative democracy may depend on Republicans overcoming their cowardice and finally standing up to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Some of my Democratic friends think I'm "over the top" when I express the likelihood of this scenario. They've lived their entire lives in the relative security of a functioning republic, and still don't fully grasp that YES -- BRUTAL DICTATORSHIP CAN HAPPEN HERE.

We couldn't elect a sitting vice president last year who is a woman and I'm sure that most Democrats were absolutely convinced she would win. The next election will be post-Trump in 2028, not even 2008. Just because you really want it to happen does not mean it will.

In over 50 years of voting I have always voted for the Democratic candidate and I will vote for Buttigieg if he is the candidate, but with little hope. However, I will not vote for him in the primary because I am convinced he cannot win and I think there will be lots of competition in the primaries of excellent candidates so I think that Buttigieg as the Democratic candidate for president or even vice president will not happen.

We have people in the democratic party who wouldnt vote for him, and that is the reality of it. I think he is brilliant, but Harris was a much brighter, better person than trump too. I voted for her twice. The other in 2019.

We are dealing with people who have more than likely already rigged the election, are working with foreign governments to take down the dollar. These people cannot be reasoned with. People should really research how brainwashed the populations are in russia, china, north korea. Research how putin gained power in russia. His supporters will NEVER believe anything outside of what they are told to believe. Trump would have them believe he eats children in the basement of an ice cream shop or something within 6 months. It doesnt matter who the republican is, they all believe some sort of complete piece of propaganda. Biden crime family, trans/gay are evil pedos, Obama isnt a citizen, global warming isnt real(ok we admit its real now, but it isnt man made, duh). On and on and on. It is insidious infection of our culture. They are pumping propaganda into our children via social media. They want to change the way we think and see the world. This is why we lost the young male vote. They are posting garbage on the internet to influence them.

We have to cut off the propaganda. Expose the compromant being used against them. Out them and take away their leverage. Hack them and find out what they are hiding. They are talking to someone about it. We need to fight back. We need private citizens to organize and fight back. Nobody is coming to save us but us.

That should help as a backlash to the chaotic dumbfuckery that people are dealing with now. A relative told me that in a recent visit to her cardiologist the doctor asked if she was stressed out by what Trump is doing because every patient she's seen lately has said they were. The doctor said she doesn't know who voted for him because all her patients expressed fear and loathing for him. So sane-sounding is going to be an asset.

I've always believed that someday he'll run for President. If it happens in 2028, it's a delightful thought. But he's still a young man, so he can wait it out if need be.

I don't call him "Mayor" Pete anymore. His next step might be Senator Pete, and that would be great too.

It seems that the USA isn't ready to elect a woman as President. We've had 2 disappointments and we can't afford any more. Our next candidate for the Democratic Party must be a winner and also a great visionary leader. It's the only way for us to get out of this horrible mess. We need another FDR, pronto!

Buddy buddy + chum-chum-chummy with Jeff Epstein. A regular guest of Epstein's jet and at his island "massage" studio for a full body. Oh,... and there is djt's weird lust for his young daughter years ago.

Not just a rapist but also a pedophile of underage younger girls. When you are rich and famous,... you just get away with it. No fouls, no balls, no strike outs - just home runs.

USA,... USA,... USA,... it is so good to be king.

For some reason, we pick Presidents with easy last names. Look at the last 13: Trump, Biden, Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Johnson, Kennedy.

That's a lot of one and two syllable last names. Two have three syllable last names (Obama and Kennedy), but Obama rolls off the tongue magnificently and Kennedy is a common name. The last somewhat hard to spell name was Eisenhower, and that's not nearly as impossible to spell as Buttigieg. Hell, it took me a year to even properly pronounce it. Even a lot of the challengers had easy last names, such as Harris, Clinton, McCain, Kerry, Gore, Dole, Mondale, etc.

With that being said, I really like the guy. Great debater too, and we really need that since we'll likely be going up against Vance.
