(68,182 posts)with Senator Warnock. I'm watching Rachel now. They want to eliminate FEMA, Kristi Noem was proud to say that to the felon dictator. All at that cabinet meeting should be arrested as DOMESTIC TERRORISTS.
No Lawrence??? He must be on a 2-week vacation.

(17,476 posts)Their election gave Joe Biden a senate majority ( with VP Harris )
They are fighting every day for democracy. Let's keep them both in the senate.

(57,915 posts)I consider Jon to be the smartest and brightest of all currently sitting Senators.
He is sharp, focused, very personable, and a towering intellect. I've known him for a few years, had dinner with him in January in DC, may see him next month if I can find the time to get over there. He was part of my "Marks and Jons" dinner three years ago.
We don't just discuss domestic politics. He is very much interested in the local political situations in NATO-land, such as France and Germany. He would make an admirable successor to Anthony Blinken if we win the White House in 2028, and he is available, which I hope he will NOT be. But no one knows better than Jon, himself, what an uphill battle he is facing next year. He won his Senate seat at precisely the right moment. Biden had solidified his victory, and anti-Trump sentiment was running at its absolute highest at the time of the special Georgia Senate election. The fall of 2026 is probably not going to present such favorable circumstances. Still he will not go down without a fight. He was considered a long shot last time, too, and yet he has been in the Senate for four years now.
He is one of our most eloquent voices in the Senate, and IHATE that he is from a state that makes his the most endangered Democratic Senate seat next year.
