Newsweek:
Trump responded to Goldberg's article on Monday afternoon, telling reporters: "I don't know anything about it. I'm not a big fan of The Atlantic. To me, it's a magazine that's going out of business. But I know nothing about it. You're saying that they had what?

(36,094 posts)Sort of grand four-dimensional chess going with the tariffs and economic actions left me speechless. (Assuming that one even believes that there is such a movement and the story was more than hogwash)
I have no word for my visceral reaction to the story. A combination of abject incredulity, ultimate disgust, and horrific wonder that such a proposition had been rendered in print and offered to the public as a serious item of thought.
All I could and can do is mutter
Six bankruptcies. Six, that we know of
He has no plan.

(33,791 posts)He's the fucking President, this kind of shit's going on under him, and he oblivious to it? Claiming ignorance doesn't make things any better, regardless of whether or not that's the actual case. If anything, it makes matters worse, especially for Trump. Either his people are actually running the show, because he is an incompetent boob, or he knows damn well what's going on, and is claiming ignorance to put the blame on an underling after they got caught. I'm going with the latter, since blaming others for his fuck-ups is his M.O., but either way, this is beyond horrific.
